Hyderabad: Hyderabad turned into a sea of runners on Sunday as nearly 35,000 people participated in the third edition of the Pink Power Run. The event took place at HMDA Grounds near Prasads IMAX and focused on breast cancer awareness, preventive healthcare and women’s health.
MEIL and the Sudha Reddy Foundation jointly organised the community run. The event included four categories — 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K — allowing people from different age groups and abilities to participate.
Runners from different backgrounds take part
Children, senior citizens, neurodivergent people and persons with disabilities joined the run. International participation also remained a major feature, with elite runners from more than a dozen countries competing in the 21K Half Marathon.
Participants represented countries including the USA, UK, UAE, Ethiopia, Kenya and Canada.
Telangana Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), DGP C.V. Anand, MEIL Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy, Sudha Reddy and U.S. Consul General Laura Williams attended the event and joined the flag-off ceremony.
Celebrities support Pink Power Run
Several public figures also participated in the Hyderabad run. Former Miss World Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri, boxer Vijender Singh, actor Siddu Jonnalagadda and music composer S. Thaman were among the notable participants.
Laura Williams took part in the 10K. Sudha Reddy, P.V. Krishna Reddy and Opal Suchata participated in the 5K and 10K races.
The event also featured Ramabai Ranveer, 47, from Maharashtra. She had earlier received attention for running barefoot to raise support for her children’s education.

Suneel Kumar, Sonam win 21K races
Suneel Kumar finished first in the men’s 21K Half Marathon, while Sonam won the women’s race.
Harish Shareen and Vandana Patel won the men’s and women’s 10K titles. Luv Choudhary and Anjali secured the men’s and women’s 5K titles.
The organisers announced a total cash prize pool of Rs. 75 lakh for top performers across the different categories. Winners also received medals and trophies.
Focus on fitness and early detection
P.V. Krishna Reddy said regular exercise can support better health and help people reduce the risks associated with lifestyle diseases.
Sudha Reddy said the initiative seeks to build greater awareness about fitness and health among families and communities. She said participants who supported the cause deserved recognition.
Minister Danasari Anasuya also highlighted the importance of improving health awareness in society.
According to the organisers, the large turnout shows increasing public participation in initiatives focused on preventive healthcare, early medical intervention and breast cancer screening.
The Pink Power Run continues to combine fitness and community participation to spread awareness about women’s health and the importance of early detection.
