Nokia 2360 Flip: New Feature Phone Comes With Dual Displays and an SOS Button, Check Key Features

Nokia 2360 Flip features dual displays, a dedicated SOS button, Family Assist, parental controls and a removable battery. Check its key features and India launch details

New Delhi: As smartphones continue to dominate the mobile market, Nokia is once again bringing back the classic flip phone experience with a modern touch. HMD Global has introduced the Nokia 2360 Flip, targeting children, senior citizens, and users who prefer a simple mobile phone over a feature-packed smartphone. The new handset combines a traditional clamshell design with practical features such as dual displays, a dedicated SOS button, and Family Assist. These additions aim to make the phone easier and safer for everyday use.

Classic Flip Design With Dual Displays

The Nokia 2360 Flip features a traditional clamshell design with two displays. It comes with a 2.8-inch main screen and a 1.77-inch external display. Users can check essential information on the outer screen without opening the phone. The handset also features a physical keypad, which makes calling and texting easier for people who prefer traditional mobile phones over touchscreen devices.

Family Assist Makes Remote Phone Management Easier

One of the key highlights of the Nokia 2360 Flip is its Family Assist feature. It allows family members to manage certain phone settings remotely through SMS commands. They can add contacts, adjust the volume, and set reminders without physically accessing the device. The feature does not require an internet connection or mobile data, making it useful for families who want to manage a child’s or an elderly family member’s phone remotely.

Dedicated SOS Button for Emergency Situations

Nokia has added a dedicated SOS button to improve user safety. Users can press and hold the button for three seconds to call a pre-set emergency number. The phone can also send alert messages to up to five emergency contacts. This feature could prove particularly useful for senior citizens and children who may need quick assistance during an emergency.

Parental Control Features for Children

The Nokia 2360 Flip also offers Family PIN and School Mode features. Parents can use Family PIN to restrict calls and messages to selected contacts. Meanwhile, School Mode limits phone usage and keeps essential functions, such as the clock and emergency calling, available. These features can help parents manage their children’s phone usage and reduce distractions during school hours.

Battery, Camera and Other Features

The handset packs a removable 1,450mAh battery. It also includes a QVGA camera, FM radio, loudspeaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, and 4MB of internal storage. HMD Global plans to offer the Nokia 2360 Flip in three colour options: Burgundy Red, Charcoal, and Teal.

India Launch and Expected Pricing

The Nokia 2360 Flip supports 2G connectivity. Therefore, Indian buyers should check 2G network availability in their area before considering the device. The company has not yet confirmed the phone’s India launch date or pricing.

Can Nokia 2360 Flip Revive the Feature Phone Market?

The Nokia 2360 Flip combines the nostalgia of classic flip phones with practical safety and remote management features. Its dual displays, SOS button, and Family Assist functionality make it an interesting option for users who want a simple mobile experience. However, its 2G connectivity could limit its appeal in markets where older networks are gradually disappearing. Ultimately, its pricing and market availability will determine whether the device can attract enough buyers.
