3 September 2025, New Delhi

One of the biggest flood disasters in recent memory is currently plaguing Punjab, where heavy rains and overflowing rivers are inflicting extensive damage. Large tracts of farmland have been ruined, houses have been washed away, and thousands of residents have been forced to relocate. Important infrastructure has also been harmed by the floods, and many people are now fighting for their lives. People from all around India have united in support of the state as it fights this serious problem, providing resources, prayers, and encouragement. Among them, a number of well-known figures from the entertainment sector have offered significant assistance.

Popular Sufi singer Satinder Sartaaj has taken his foundation to the frontline of relief efforts, especially in Ferozpur and Fazilka districts. Through his social media posts, he has been sharing visuals from the ground to highlight the seriousness of the situation and appeal to people everywhere to contribute to the cause.

Singer Jasbir Jassi, best known for his hit song Dil Le Gayi Kudi Gujarat Di, has also been using his platform to raise awareness. He revealed in an interview that he personally contacted Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, both of whom have promised to extend their support. Sanjay Dutt even posted on X (formerly Twitter), calling the devastation “truly heartbreaking” and assuring that he would help “in every way possible.” His message struck a chord with fans and spread further awareness about Punjab’s struggles.

Global Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is closely monitoring the situation in the Majha region. His team is reportedly planning not just immediate relief work but also long-term rehabilitation projects. Recently, Diljit shared that he has adopted 10 villages in Punjab to support their recovery, a move that has been widely praised.

In an effort to help flood-affected communities, actor-singer Gippy Grewal has also sent truckloads of silage, guaranteeing that cattle, who are a vital source of income for many farmers, have nourishment during this trying time. To assist in flood rescue efforts, Punjabi artist Karan Aujla contributed a motorboat to a Ludhiana-based NGO. While the acute need is present, he also reminded supporters that reconstruction will take months to complete.

Under the Sood Charity Foundation, actor Sonu Sood, who is well-known across the country for his humanitarian efforts, has established a dedicated helpline (+91 7888675107). In an emotional post, he pledged to stand by his home state Punjab and support every person in need — from immediate relief to long-term rebuilding. Together, these efforts by celebrities are helping amplify the call for aid, ensuring that Punjab receives not just relief today but also hope for tomorrow.
