E-Cell, MERI College delivered an exceptional performance at the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) 2025 by clinching a Top 5 position at the national level during the finals hosted at IIT Bombay’s 21st E-Summit. Competing against nearly 4,000 institutions across the country, MERI’s achievement stands out as a remarkable example of perseverance and focused execution.

The success marks a significant rise from the team’s earlier 57th rank in the competition. Following an early elimination on 31 January 2025, the E-Cell team undertook a comprehensive restructuring of its working model. Emphasis was placed on discipline, clarity of roles, and a long-term strategic roadmap, which laid the foundation for a strong comeback.

Months of consistent effort paid off on 12 December 2025, when E-Cell MERI was announced as the fifth-ranked team in the NEC Finals. The turnaround was driven by the leadership of Zorawar Singh (NEC Leader), Anant Noor Singh (President), and Vishal Dudeja (Vice NEC Leader), whose planning and coordination helped the team navigate intense competitive stages.

Academic and strategic guidance was provided by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Chhabra, who played a dual role as NEC External Mentor and Illuminate Faculty Member, strengthening the team’s analytical and execution capabilities.

During the NEC 2025 season, E-Cell MERI actively participated in over 40 competitions and successfully completed 18 NEC tasks, including flagship initiatives such as Illuminate, Eureka Pitching, and the Founders’ Expo. A key highlight was MERI College emerging as the only institution from North India to host the Eureka North Zonals in partnership with E-Cell, IIT Bombay.

At the finals in Mumbai, the team competed across five challenging rounds, including presentations, group discussions, case analysis, and an IPL-style auction round. Contributions from both on-site participants and remote team members played a crucial role in this achievement.

The journey from 57th position to a Top 5 national rank reflects strong teamwork, effective mentorship, and collective determination. Riding on this success, E-Cell MERI College has already begun preparations for NEC 2026, with its sights firmly set on the top spot.
