Formerly serving as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Lavkush Nagar in Chhatarpur District, MP, Nisha Bangre tendered her resignation on June 23, 2023. It was only on October 23, that the Madhya Pradesh Government officially accepted her resignation. Nisha Bangre is prepared to participate in the upcoming elections, preferably representing the Congress. Should that option not materialize, she is fully committed to running as an independent candidate.
Her resignation had initially faced delays in acceptance, prompting Nisha Bangre to embark on a 300-kilometer ‘padyatra’ (foot march) from Amla to Bhopal, which began on September 28 and concluded on October 9. During her march towards the Chief Minister’s residence, she was briefly detained and spent a night in jail.

Educational Background of IAS Nisha Bangre
Nisha Bangre hails from Balaghat district in Madhya Pradesh. She pursued engineering from 2010 to 2014, and after completing her engineering degree, she worked at a multinational company in Gurugram. It was during this time that she felt a strong inclination toward civil services. In 2016, Nisha Bangre cleared the UPSC exam and was appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently, in 2017, she became the Deputy Collector, with her initial posting in Amla district.
In her personal life, Nisha Bangre made a unique commitment to her husband by swearing on the Constitution of India. Her husband works in a multinational company, and the couple has a three-year-old son.
