New Delhi: Marking the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, Sikka Charitable Trust hosted a Guru Ka Langar at its Preet Vihar office on Sunday. Several eminent figures from the political, social, commercial, and religious sectors attended the programme, offering tributes to Guru Sahib and renewing their commitment to the principles of service, compassion, and human welfare.
The programme was attended by several distinguished guests, including Chairman of the Trans Yamuna Development Board Arvinder Singh Lovely, former Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Member of Parliament from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari, former MLA Om Prakash Sharma, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee member Sardar Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, President of the All India Traders Federation Sardar Gurcharan Singh Raju, Municipal Councillor Ramesh Garg, former Councillor Ravi Sharma, Sardar Gurjeet Singh Sahni, Chairman of Jhankar Groups Mahesh Kapoor, proprietor of Hira Sweets Paras Sharma, President of the Accredited Journalists Association and Editor of Rashtra Times Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi, and Sardar Gurneet Sikka, along with several other eminent guests.
Sardar Gurinder Singh Sikka, Founder and Patron of Sikka Charitable Trust, said that Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s sacrifice remains an eternal symbol of humanity, religious freedom, and selfless service. He noted that the Guru’s teachings continue to inspire society to foster unity, compassion, and communal harmony.
Arvinder Singh Lovely described Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s life as a remarkable example of courage, tolerance, and service to mankind. Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari said that Guru Sahib’s teachings guide society towards love, unity, and altruism. Former MLA Om Prakash Sharma remarked that such events play an important role in strengthening social harmony and passing on the values of the Sikh Gurus to future generations.
During the programme, devotees partook in the Guru Ka Langar and offered their respects to Guru Sahib. The event was marked by an atmosphere of devotion, service, and community participation.
Concluding the programme, Sardar Gurinder Singh Sikka expressed gratitude to all guests and devotees for their presence and support. He reaffirmed that Sikka Charitable Trust would continue its efforts in the fields of education, healthcare, social welfare, and public service through various community-focused initiatives.
