New Delhi : Mumbai Indians suffered their third consecutive defeat in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, losing to the Rajasthan Royals in Monday’s match. Since taking over as captain of the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya has yet to lead his team to victory in any match. Although he showed promise with the bat against the Royals, he was unable to turn his brief innings into a substantial score. Following another loss in the ongoing campaign, Hardik took to social media to share an uplifting message.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Mumbai Indians captain stated, “If there’s one thing you should know about this team, we never give up. We’ll keep fighting, we’ll keep going.”
Hardik’s post serves as a passionate message for fans who may be losing hope in the Mumbai Indians’ prospects for success this year.
After the game, Hardik acknowledged that his dismissal had shifted the momentum of the match in favor of Rajasthan.
“Yes, it was a tough night, and we didn’t start the way we wanted to. I was hoping to make a difference, and we were in a decent position to reach 150-160, but my wicket allowed them to regain control of the game. I needed to contribute more. It’s alright; we didn’t anticipate such a challenging pitch, but as a batsman, you can’t always have favorable conditions. Sometimes it’s good for the bowlers to have an impact.
“It’s about executing the correct actions; sometimes the results follow, and sometimes results don’t. As a team, we believe we can perform much better, but we need to be more disciplined and demonstrate greater courage,” Hardik remarked during the post-match presentation.
With three losses in as many matches, Mumbai currently occupies the bottom position on the IPL 2024 points table.
