Honda has launched the XR300L and XR300 Rally in India, priced from Rs 1.83 lakh. Check prices, engine specs, features, range and key differences
New Delhi: Honda has launched the new XR300L and XR300 Rally in the Indian motorcycle market. The company has designed the two motorcycles for different riding needs. While the XR300L focuses more on off-road and dual-sport riding, the XR300 Rally targets long-distance touring with additional equipment and better wind protection. Honda has also started bookings for both models.
Price and Booking
Honda has priced the XR300L at Rs 1.83 lakh (ex-showroom), while the XR300 Rally costs Rs 2.08 lakh. This makes the Rally variant Rs 25,000 more expensive than the XR300L.
According to reports, these prices apply to Bengaluru and both motorcycles will be sold through Honda BigWing dealerships.
293.5cc Engine Produces the Power
Both motorcycles use a 293.5cc single-cylinder engine with air cooling and an oil cooler. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox.
Honda has not yet revealed the complete power and torque figures for the India-spec models. However, the same engine in international-spec versions produces around 24.3hp and 26.5Nm of torque.

Honda XR300L Focuses on Off-Road Riding
Honda has given the XR300L a slim and lightweight design to suit off-road riding. The motorcycle gets a high-set front fender, a narrow seat and an upswept exhaust, all of which highlight its off-road character.
The XR300L rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel with wire spokes. Its long-travel suspension setup includes USD front forks and a Pro-Link monoshock at the rear.
For braking, Honda has equipped the motorcycle with disc brakes on both wheels and dual-channel ABS. Riders can switch off the rear ABS when riding off-road. The motorcycle also gets Honda Selectable Torque Control.
XR300 Rally Gets a Stronger Touring Focus
Honda has built the XR300 Rally around the same basic mechanical package but added features aimed at making long-distance rides more comfortable.
The biggest difference comes from its larger windscreen and additional bodywork, which should offer better protection from wind on highways.
The XR300 Rally also gets a 13-litre fuel tank, significantly larger than the 7.8-litre tank on the XR300L. In addition, Honda offers a TFT instrument console and RoadSync connectivity on the Rally.
The RoadSync system supports connected features such as turn-by-turn navigation, making the motorcycle better suited for touring and longer road trips.

Which One Should You Choose?
Although both motorcycles share the same platform and engine, Honda has designed them for different purposes.
The XR300L should appeal to riders who want a motorcycle for everyday use but also want to spend more time on trails and off-road terrain. Meanwhile, the XR300 Rally should suit riders who prioritise long-distance touring, better wind protection, a larger fuel tank and connected features.
Considering their pricing and positioning, the XR300L could compete with motorcycles such as the Hero Xpulse 210 and Kawasaki KLX 230. The XR300 Rally, meanwhile, could take on more touring-focused motorcycles such as the KTM 250 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
With these two motorcycles, Honda aims to strengthen its presence in India’s lightweight dual-sport and adventure motorcycle segment. The fact that Honda manufactures both models locally could also help the company compete more aggressively in this growing category.
