New Delhi: Apple is set to roll out iOS 27 globally today, September 14, bringing a redesigned Siri experience, expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities, Visual Intelligence upgrades and several other changes to compatible iPhone models.
Apple’s India website confirms that iOS 27 will be available from September 14, but the company has not announced a specific release time for Indian users. Based on Apple’s usual major iOS rollout schedule, the update is expected to arrive in India at around 10:30 PM IST.
The update will be delivered as an over-the-air software update. However, availability may vary slightly between devices and regions, meaning some users may see the update later than others.

Apple typically begins major iOS rollouts at around 10:00 AM Pacific Time. That translates to approximately 10:30 PM IST in India.
It is important to note that 10:30 PM IST is an expected time, not an officially confirmed India-specific release time from Apple. Apple’s official India website currently confirms only that iOS 27 is available from September 14.
Users can check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update on their iPhone.
New Siri AI is the headline feature
One of the biggest changes in iOS 27 is the new Siri AI experience. Apple describes it as a more capable assistant designed to understand requests more naturally and help users get things done.
The new Siri can use personal context and interact with supported apps to perform tasks. Gadgets 360 reports that the revamped experience combines Apple’s Foundation Models with Google’s Gemini models.

Liquid Glass gets more customisation
The Liquid Glass design introduced with iOS 26 receives further refinements in iOS 27. Apple says the updated design improves readability through more uniform refraction and better contrast.
Users also get a new slider that allows them to customise the appearance of Liquid Glass, ranging from an ultra-clear look to a more tinted appearance.
Apple says iOS 27 also brings performance improvements, including faster app launches, faster loading of photos and quicker AirDrop transfers.
More parental controls and app improvements
iOS 27 introduces additional parental-control features, including changes to Ask to Buy, Ask to Browse, contact approvals, time allowances and schedules.
Other changes include a redesigned Phone app, contextual suggestions in Messages and Mail, and the ability to organise Safari tabs by topics. Apple Intelligence features are also being expanded across apps including Photos, Safari, Wallet and Shortcuts.
