After theatres, ‘Kannappa’ now makes its way to OTT

New Delhi, September 2, 2025

The Telugu film Kannappa is now moving from cinema halls to digital screens. Starring actor Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, this devotional drama tells the story of Thinnadu, a man who begins as an atheist but gradually transforms into a staunch devotee known as “Kannappa.” The film traces his spiritual journey and his unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva.

The movie also features several big names from Bollywood and South cinema, including Akshay Kumar, Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, and R. Sarathkumar.

OTT Release Details

Kannappa will premiere digitally on Amazon Prime Video starting September 4, 2025. To watch the film, viewers will need an active subscription to the platform.

Trailer and Storyline

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film revolves around Thinnadu, a tribal leader who initially opposes the ancient practice of animal sacrifice. His life takes a dramatic turn when he discovers a Shivling in the forest, leading him on a path of transformation into a true devotee of Lord Shiva. The climax of the film unfolds when Lord Shiva himself puts Kannappa’s faith to the ultimate test.
