Massive Landslide Washes Away Arunachal Pradesh Highway Near China Border

A significant landslide struck Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday following heavy rain, causing a portion of a highway linked to China’s border to be washed away. This highway was the sole route connecting Dibhang Valley district to the rest of India.

Preliminary reports indicate extensive damage to the road along the Roing Anini Highway between Hunli and Anini. In response to these events, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed concern over the incident.

Videos circulated on social media depicted a section of the highway that had disappeared, rendering it impassable for vehicles attempting to cross to the opposite side.
