Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals kept their IPL 2026 playoff hopes alive after defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets in a high-scoring match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Chasing a huge target of 221 runs, Rajasthan Royals played fearless cricket and reached 225/3 in 19.1 overs with five balls remaining. The win helped RR move to fourth place in the IPL 2026 points table with 14 points from 13 matches. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants were knocked out of the playoff race after their ninth defeat of the season.
LSG Put Up 220 Runs on the Board
Lucknow Super Giants batted first and scored 220/5 in their 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh played a brilliant innings and missed his century by just four runs. He scored 96 runs off 57 balls with the help of 11 fours and 5 sixes.
Josh Inglis also played an attacking knock and made 60 runs from just 29 balls. He smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes during his innings.
Nicholas Pooran scored a quick 16 runs off 11 balls and hit 2 sixes. Captain Rishabh Pant added 35 runs from 23 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 0, while Ayush Badoni got out without scoring.
For Rajasthan Royals, Yash Punia picked up 2 wickets, while Jofra Archer took 1 wicket. RR players also completed 2 important run-outs, including the dismissals of Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Stars in RR’s Record Chase
Rajasthan Royals began the chase in aggressive fashion. Captain Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the team a strong start by scoring 43 runs off just 23 balls. His innings included 8 fours and 1 six.
The star of the match was young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played a stunning innings of 93 runs off only 38 balls. He smashed 7 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 244.74. His explosive batting completely changed the game and put RR in control of the chase.
After Suryavanshi got out, Dhruv Jurel calmly finished the job for Rajasthan Royals. The wicketkeeper-batter remained unbeaten on 53 runs off 38 balls and hit 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Donovan Ferreira also stayed not out on 16 runs from 10 balls, while Lhuan Pretorius scored 7 runs before being run out.
For Lucknow Super Giants, Akash Singh and Mohsin Khan picked up 1 wicket each, but their bowlers failed to stop RR’s powerful batting lineup.
IPL 2026 Points Table After RR vs LSG
After this important victory, Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to lead the IPL 2026 points table with 18 points from 13 matches.
Gujarat Titans are in second place with 16 points, while Sunrisers Hyderabad are third with the same number of points.
Rajasthan Royals have now moved to fourth place with 14 points and remain alive in the playoff race. Punjab Kings are fifth with 13 points.

Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are currently in the bottom half of the table with 8 points each. However, MI still have 1 match left to play, while LSG are officially out of the playoff race.
