Sri Lanka Tourism targets Kerala’s travel market through a Kozhikode roadshow featuring 20-plus companies, destination showcases and B2B meetings

KOZHIKODE, Kerala: Sri Lanka Tourism is strengthening its outreach to Indian travellers through a travel trade roadshow in Kozhikode on October 26, 2026. The event, organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) with the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai, will bring together more than 20 Sri Lankan tourism companies and professionals from Kerala’s travel industry.

The initiative aims to build business connections, showcase holiday products and encourage more travellers from Kerala to consider Sri Lanka for their next international trip.

Kerala Offers Opportunities for Sri Lanka Tourism

Sri Lanka Tourism sees Kerala as an important market for expanding travel trade partnerships. The roadshow will focus on building relationships with travel agents, tour operators, corporate travel buyers and MICE planners in Kozhikode and the wider Malabar region.

The city serves as a commercial hub in northern Kerala and offers opportunities to promote international leisure holidays, family trips, luxury stays and destination weddings.

Through direct engagement with local travel professionals, Sri Lankan businesses will be able to present their services and explore opportunities to develop new travel products.

India Leads Sri Lanka’s International Tourist Arrivals

India remained Sri Lanka’s largest source market in 2025, contributing 531,511 visitors out of 2,362,521 international tourist arrivals, according to the figures supplied by the tourism bureau.

As of October 22, 2026, Sri Lanka had recorded 482,944 Indian tourist arrivals, representing 26.6% of the international total.

The figures underline the importance of the Indian market to Sri Lanka’s tourism sector. The Kozhikode roadshow aims to build on this demand by strengthening ties with travel businesses in southern India.

Tourism Companies to Showcase Holiday Experiences

More than 20 Sri Lankan companies will participate in the event. The group will include hotels, resorts, destination management companies, attractions and other tourism service providers.

The programme will provide opportunities for business meetings, destination presentations and direct discussions between buyers and sellers.

Organisers have also planned media networking, cultural performances, a dinner reception, lucky draws and giveaways to support industry engagement.

From Beach Holidays to Wildlife and Wellness

Sri Lanka offers a varied range of experiences for Indian visitors. Travellers can explore coastal destinations, cultural heritage sites, wildlife attractions, scenic landscapes, luxury resorts and wellness retreats.

Adventure tourism and MICE travel also provide opportunities for the island to attract different visitor segments, including corporate groups and families.

The roadshow will give Kerala’s travel professionals an opportunity to learn about these offerings and establish contacts with Sri Lankan suppliers.
