The gathering will unite government officials, energy experts, financial partners, and community members to assess progress, honour contributors, and outline future pathways for Varanasi’s clean-energy transition.
Varanasi, 14 November 2025
Varanasi is set to host an important milestone event on 16 November as Sun King, along with government and energy-sector partners, brings together senior officials, technical teams, financial institutions, and community representatives at Hotel Castillo. The event will spotlight the city’s rapidly growing adoption of renewable energy and the collective efforts driving transformative change on the ground.
A major highlight of the programme will be a review of the progress made under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, where Sun King has played a pivotal role in expanding clean-energy access across the region. Representatives from the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), bank officials, field staff, consumers, and energy officers are expected to attend, underscoring the multi-level collaboration that has shaped Varanasi’s renewable energy journey.
The discussions will focus on achievements in solar installations, the rising participation of customers, and the contributions of local governance in accelerating clean-technology adoption. The event will also honour customers and households who not only embraced solar energy but helped inspire and guide others within their communities.
Experts will deliberate on ways to strengthen the renewable ecosystem further—ranging from technological advancements to expanding outreach in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas. The programme aims to build a roadmap that enhances energy reliability, reduces household expenditure, and supports long-term sustainability goals.
As India continues to intensify its shift towards green energy, this event marks a significant moment for Varanasi—celebrating progress made so far while reaffirming commitments to an energy-secure, environmentally conscious, and resilient future.
