Dr K A Paul has urged Donald Trump and global leaders to end the Iran war, warning about the humanitarian and economic cost of conflicts
Washington, D.C.: International peace advocate Dr. K. A. Paul has urged US President Donald Trump and other world leaders to take immediate steps to end the Iran war. He has called for diplomatic negotiations to replace military confrontation and prevent further humanitarian consequences.
Paul, who leads the Global Peace Initiative, renewed his appeal after the reported Democratic Party victory in the 2026 US midterm elections. He connected the political outcome to a warning he made during the Global Peace Summit in Washington, D.C., on September 23.
At the summit, Paul had cautioned that Trump could face an electoral setback if he failed to end the Iran conflict. He had also predicted that Republicans could lose control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Paul said the latest political developments highlighted the importance of prioritising peace. He has consistently argued that prolonged conflicts affect civilians, economies and social stability across national borders.
He also referred to the political situation in Israel and his earlier criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approach to regional conflicts. The press release stated that Netanyahu’s Likud Party secured 27 seats in the 120-member Knesset, while its supporting coalition won 53 seats. The bloc would need 61 seats to secure a majority.
Paul also raised concerns about US House Speaker Mike Johnson’s political future. He said Johnson could lose his position when the new Congress begins in January 2027, while appreciating his leadership and association with the peace initiative.
Concluding his appeal, Paul called on Trump, Netanyahu and other international leaders to pursue peaceful negotiations. He stressed that protecting human lives and maintaining global stability should remain central to political decisions.
