New book explores India’s transformation, current position and the road ahead
Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad: The Modi Era: India’s Journey of Transformation, authored by Dr. Bhargav Mallappa, Author and Founder of the Akhila Sevak Samaj Council (ASSC), was formally launched at Adithara Auditorium in Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad, on Monday.
The programme was organised by ASSC as part of the Birthday Week Celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event brought together spiritual leaders, elected representatives, social workers, academics, workers’ representatives and members of the media.
The book focuses on the changes witnessed in India and looks at the country’s evolution, present circumstances and future possibilities. According to Dr. Mallappa, the work emerged from months of reading, observation and reflection on the developments shaping the country.
He said the book is intended not only to document a period of change but also to create space for discussion and reflection. He encouraged readers to assess the ideas presented in the book, agree or disagree with them and form their own understanding of India’s journey.
Dr. S. Selvaganesh, National Chairman, Bharathiya Hindu Parivar and Member of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC), Ministry of Railways, Government of India, delivered the welcome address.
The book launch was attended by Madurai Aadheenam Srimath Vishwalinga Thambiran, Thiru Rajasekar Swamigal, Thavathiru Palani Adigalar, Mahaa Shri Shri Yukteshwara Paramacharya Swamigal, Shri Karan Bhushan Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri T. S. Srivatsa, Hon’ble MLA, Krishnaraja Constituency, Mysuru, Shri Satyendra Kumar Bari, Member, State Commission for Backward Classes, Uttar Pradesh, Prasanth Malavayal, BJP District President, Wayanad, Dr. Subbha Somu, Shri Chandan Kumar, Dr. Mahalakshmi and Kaleem Bharathi, among others.
Dr. Mallappa also expressed hope that the book would reach young readers, communities and institutions and contribute to wider conversations about India’s transformation.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Shri Manoj Sharma.
