The Community Notes component of Elon Musk’s social networking platform X is now accessible in India. The tool, which comes ahead of the country’s April 19 Lok Sabha elections, will assist users in fact-checking information that is being spread on the network.
X sent an announcement on social media about the Community Notes function, saying, “Welcome new contributors in India. We’re going to grow over time, and our first contributors are joining us today. As always, we will keep an eye on the quality to make sure that remarks are valued by a variety of viewpoints. There are currently 69 nations represented among the contributors to Community Notes, and more are being added on a regular basis.”
The development on X was announced by Elon Musk, who wrote, “Community Notes now active on India.”
How is the Community Notes function in X used?
Clicking on the link supplied by Community Notes’ official account will sign you up for the feature. Following this, you’ll be prompted to accept a number of terms. After that, you’ll be an active participant in the feature.
When were the Community Notes from X released?
The ability to access Community Notes linked to posts from all across the world was added by X in December 2022. Later, customers from more nations were able to access this service, which was previously only available to users in a few.
Since the program’s launch in India, participants from 69 different nations have contributed. Previously, the X platform added support for photos and videos to Community Notes—formerly known as Birdwatch.
