DME Media School’s Training and Placement Cell successfully organized its HR Conclave, MediaConnect 2.0, on March 27, 2026. The event brought together experienced professionals from leading media organizations to help students better understand the evolving corporate landscape. This year’s theme, “Conscious Unbossing: Why is Gen Z Rejecting Middle Management?”, set the tone for insightful discussions on modern workplace dynamics.

Opening Session and Welcome Address

The conclave began with a welcome address by Ms. Garima Jain, who introduced the concept and purpose of MediaConnect. Following this, Dr. Parul Mehra, Head of the Media Department, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the significance of adapting to changing industry expectations and understanding the mindset of today’s young professionals. Additionally, faculty members Dr. Vishal Sahai and Dr. Yamini Khullar joined in felicitating the guest speakers.

Mr. Amitabh Chakraborty, HR Head at Bharat Express, opened the speaker session by emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, knowledge, and understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses. Ms. Videsha Kemkar, Editor at WION, engaged students in an interactive discussion by asking them to reflect on their definition of success. In addition, she explained how success varies across individuals and generations, and how Gen Z’s expectations from careers and workplaces are evolving.

Adding to the discussion, Ms. Renu Mattoo, Head HR at Amar Ujala, spoke about the behavioral patterns and learning styles of Gen Z employees and their growing influence on workplace culture. Moreover, Mr. Simarjeet Singh Bhatia, Director and CEO of Themes Event Management, shared his industry experiences and highlighted Gen Z’s goal-driven approach and energetic work ethic.
