New Delhi: Apple has started selling its new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models in India. Both models became available to customers on September 18. The company opened pre-bookings for the phones on September 12. Soon after sales began, long queues of customers were seen outside Apple Stores in several cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Prices
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900 in India. This price is for the 256GB storage model. The 512GB variant costs ₹1,89,900, while the 1TB model is priced at ₹2,39,900 and the 2TB model costs ₹3,14,900. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900. Its 512GB model costs ₹2,04,900, the 1TB version is priced at ₹2,54,900 and the 2TB variant costs ₹3,29,900.
New Pro Models Come in Four Colours
Apple has introduced both Pro models in four colours. These include Black, Silver, Glacier and the new Burgundy colour. Along with the design, the company has made changes to the phones’ cameras, processor, battery and AI capabilities. Both models run on iOS 27 and feature Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset.
Major Changes to the 48MP Camera System
The camera is one of the major upgrades in the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Both phones feature a triple 48-megapixel rear camera system. The main Fusion camera comes with a variable aperture, giving users more control in different lighting conditions. Apple has also added new Pro controls to the Camera app, giving users greater control over camera settings while shooting.
A20 Pro Chip Brings Improved Performance
Apple has paired the A20 Pro chip with a new vapour chamber cooling system. The company says the system helps maintain performance during extended heavy workloads. Apple has also worked on battery efficiency and says the Pro Max offers the longest battery life ever seen on a Pro model.
120Hz ProMotion Display
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the Pro Max comes with a 6.9-inch display. Both phones support ProMotion technology and refresh rates of up to 120Hz. Apple has also made improvements to outdoor visibility and screen protection.
Multiple Offers Available for Buyers
Customers in India have several options to purchase the new models. Apart from Apple’s online store and retail stores, the phones are also available through authorised retailers and major e-commerce platforms. Some buyers can also get cashback on select bank cards, no-cost EMI options and trade-in benefits when exchanging an old phone.
Pro Model Production Expands in India
One of the key highlights of the launch is the manufacturing of the Pro models in India. Apple has increased production of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in the country. Manufacturing facilities operated by Foxconn and Tata Electronics are involved in producing these models. This further strengthens Apple’s India-based manufacturing strategy.
Long Queues Seen Outside Apple Stores
Long queues outside Apple Stores on launch day once again highlighted strong consumer interest in the iPhone in India. Many buyers reached stores in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru before opening hours. Some customers even waited in queues overnight.
