New Delhi: Gold and silver rate in Indian marketplaces remained strong on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Strong global cues, increased safe-haven demand, a weak US dollar, and consistent local buying kept precious metals slightly high. While gold continued to trade close to record highs, silver remained exceptionally strong and hovered near the ₹4 lakh-per-kilogram mark in several cities.

Chennai

Gold prices in Chennai remained among the highest in the country. 24 carat gold traded at around ₹17,029 per gram, which is ₹1,70,290 for 10 grams. 22 carat gold stood at about ₹15,610 per gram, which is ₹1,56,100 for 10 grams. 18 carat gold traded near ₹13,025 per gram, which is ₹1,30,250 for 10 grams.

Silver prices in Chennai crossed a key level and traded close to ₹4,00,000 per kilogram, with rates ranging between ₹4,000 and ₹4,001 for 10 grams. Strong industrial demand and steady investment buying supported silver prices.

Delhi

Gold prices in the national capital remained firm in line with global trends. 24 carat gold traded at around ₹16,723 per gram, which is ₹1,67,230 for 10 grams. 22 carat gold stood near ₹15,330 per gram, which is ₹1,53,300 for 10 grams. 18 carat gold was available at around ₹12,546 per gram, which is ₹1,25,460 for 10 grams.

Silver prices in Delhi traded close to ₹3,80,000 per kilogram, with rates near ₹3,800 for 10 grams, reflecting steady demand from buyers.
