With the onset of the new year, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has released a notification aimed at regulating the prices of 19 newly identified medicines. These include medications for infections, fever, pain, neck infections, and more. According to the announcement, pharmaceutical companies will be permitted to include the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the prices only if they have paid the GST themselves. Additionally, an order has been issued to revise the prices of medications used in the treatment of severe infections from companies such as Cipla and Wockhardt.
