Evangelist Dr. K. A. Paul calls the mandate “historic and unexpected,” backs Vijay Joseph’s leadership, and stresses public welfare for Tamil Nadu’s future New Delhi, 5 May 2026
World-renowned evangelist Dr. K. A. Paul has extended his congratulations to actor-turned-politician Vijay Joseph following his landmark victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where he secured 108 out of 234 seats and is set to become the next Chief Minister.
In his statement, Dr. Paul described Vijay’s victory as “extraordinary and unexpected,” noting that most political analysts and opinion polls had predicted a marginal performance, estimating only a handful of seats and a limited vote share. Contrary to these projections, Vijay’s decisive mandate has emerged as one of the most significant political upsets in recent times, surprising many political leaders across the spectrum.
Dr. Paul said Vijay’s strong public connect and grassroots support drove the outcome, adding that young voters across Christian, Telugu and Tamil communities played a decisive role. He also acknowledged the support of his followers, whom he credited for contributing to the scale of the mandate.
He further stated that he had expressed confidence in Vijay’s victory well before the results were declared and had conveyed this belief to his coordinators asked them to suppprt Vijay’s party while continuing to advocate a development-focused vision for Tamil Nadu. Dr Paul clearly and openly warned C M Stalin on 3 different occasions on 18,20 and 22nd February ,2026 that he would become ex C M if he would not change .
Referring to his past interactions with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, Dr. Paul highlighted earlier discussions around organising a global peace summit aimed at attracting international investment and generating large-scale employment. He raised concerns over delays and denial of permissions for the initiative despite applications being submitted in advance and participation confirmations from global leaders.
Dr. Paul also issued a caution to what he described as corrupt political leadership, stating that voters are increasingly rejecting governance that does not prioritise transparency, development and public welfare.
Reiterating his commitment to peace, development and international collaboration, Dr. Paul said such initiatives are intended to benefit society at large and urged political leaders to support efforts that contribute to economic growth and job creation.
In his message to Vijay, Dr. Paul extended his blessings and urged him to remain committed to public service, integrity and inclusive development. He expressed confidence that Vijay Joseph’s leadership would usher in a new phase of growth and opportunity for Tamil Nadu.
