NTA JEE Mains 2026 Result Today: Steps to Download Scorecard, Check Cut-Off and Rank

NTA to release JEE Main 2026 Session 1 scorecards on official website; students advised to keep login details ready

New Delhi: The January session result of JEE Main 2026 is set to be declared today on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates who appeared for Session 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) are eagerly waiting to access their scorecards. The result will display key details such as percentile scores, All India Rank (AIR), and eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026.

The exam is conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency, once in January and again in April. In 2026, the first session was conducted from January 21 to January 29. The computer-based test was conducted at centres across India and overseas. Lakhs of aspirants appeared for the exam to secure admission in NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions.

Result Date Revised

Initially, the agency had scheduled the announcement of the result for February 12, 2026. However, after reviewing objections submitted against the provisional answer key and finalising the revised answer key, the declaration was postponed.

The result will now be released on February 16, 2026. Officials have completed the evaluation process and prepared the final scorecards.

Candidates must note that the result will be available only on the official websites — jeemain.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in. The NTA will not send scorecards through post or email.

Information Mentioned on the Scorecard

The JEE Main 2026 scorecard will include:

  • Candidate’s name and roll number
  • Application number
  • Parents’ details
  • State code of eligibility
  • Subject-wise percentile scores (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
  • Overall percentile score
  • All India Rank (AIR)
  • Category rank (if applicable)

JEE Advanced eligibility status

The NTA follows a normalisation method to calculate percentile scores, ensuring fairness for candidates appearing in different shifts. The percentile reflects how a candidate performed in comparison to others.

Cut-Off and Qualification Criteria

Along with the results, the cut-off percentile for JEE Advanced 2026 will also be announced. Approximately the top 2.5 lakh candidates across categories will qualify to appear for JEE Advanced, which is mandatory for admission to IITs.

The final cut-off is calculated after reviewing factors like:

  • Total number of candidates who appeared
  • Difficulty level of the examination
  • Overall performance of students
  • Candidates who secure the required percentile will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced once the application window opens.

Topper List to Be Announced

Alongside the result, the NTA will publish the list of top-performing candidates. This list will include students who achieve the highest percentile scores, including those securing a perfect 100 percentile.

In previous years, more than one candidate achieved 100 percentile due to the normalisation system. Similar outcomes are possible this year if multiple students obtain identical top scores.

Stay Away from Fake Websites

The NTA has cautioned students against using unofficial websites that falsely claim to provide results. Some such websites include:

  • jeemains.in
  • jeemain.nta.in
  • jeemains.info
  • jeeguide.co.in

Students should check their results only on the official portals — jeemain.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in — to avoid fraud or misuse of personal information.

What Comes Next?

Once the Session 1 results are announced, candidates will get another chance to boost their scores by appearing in Session 2, which is likely to be held in April 2026. After that, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will compare both attempts and use the higher score to prepare the final merit list.

Subsequently, when both sessions conclude, the counselling process for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes will begin. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will conduct and manage this counselling process for eligible candidates.

Meanwhile, students should keep their login details ready and continue checking the official website for the latest updates. Ultimately, the JEE Main result plays a vital role in every engineering aspirant’s journey, as it moves them a step closer to securing a seat in their preferred college.
